UK target Archie Goodwin has long been considered as a player that was going to wait until the spring signing period to make his college decision. But just last night Archie tweeted this: “I might make my decision in the next week or two.” Archie also went on to say that he’s had a change of heart.
This is very interesting for the Wildcats, as they are considered the co-favorite with the Arkansas Razorbacks. Goodwin moving his decision up means that there is little to no time for schools such as UConn, Kansas, Memphis, and Kansas to make a final push for the best shooting guard prospect in this year’s class.
Can Kentucky beat Arkansas out for the talented guard? Of course, John Calipari has enjoyed recruiting success that was previously thought to be impossible before he came to Lexington and assembling three of the top classes in recent history. He has been able to sign players from all around the country, including players who have signed with other schools already (Washington). So yes , I do believe that Goodwin will ultimately end up wearing Kentucky blue next season.
In the end, it looks like Archie Goodwin might be Kentucky’s first recruit after alll.
