Which was your favorite play of MKG?

Mike DeCourcy has written an excellent article on just how important Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is to the Kentucky Wildcats.

He also looks at 3 plays in the game made by MKG that really doesn’t come up in the stat sheets but was pivotal in the Cats holding off the Cards.

Which was your favorite MKG moment Saturday?

How about when he chased down Louisville point guard Peyton Siva on the break with 10:15 left in the first half, his threatening presence leading Siva to try dumping the ball to a trailing teammate—only to turn it over to a UK player instead?

How about when he drove right to left across the lane with 15:43 remaining and missed a shot because he still was off-balance—but managed to beat everyone to the rebound, grabbed it as he fell to the court and then called a time out when he was prone and had no other escape?

How about when he emerged from a mad scramble with the ball, noticed 6-11 Anthony Davis adjacent to the goal and lofted a perfect lob pass that led to a fourth personal foul for Cardinals big man Rakeem Buckles?

There were minimal statistical rewards for these plays, but each was essential to Kentucky’s victory, and perhaps no other college player could have presented this entire package along with 24 points and 19 rebounds that made an immense impression staring back from the stat sheet.
