Jon Rothstein updated his “Rothstein 45” rankings following a long list of exhibition games over the weekend.
One of those exhibition games, of course, was Kentucky pretty much dominating No. 1 Purdue for 40 minutes. The Cats were clearly the more athletic team in the preseason game. Even Matt Painter admitted that the outcome could have been worse for the Boilermakers.
The game didn’t move the needle for Rothstein, however. Rothstein still has Purdue at No. 1 overall in his updated rankings. More surprisingly, Kentucky isn’t even in the top 10 (No. 12).
Here’s a look with an excerpt about the Cats:
1. Purdue
2. Houston
3. St. John’s
4. Florida
5. Michigan
6. UConn
7. UCLA
8. BYU
9. Duke
10. Texas Tech
11. Arkansas
12. Kentucky
