Quarterback DJ Hunter announced on Monday that he is breaking off his commitment to Kentucky football and reopening his recruitment.
Hunter is a three-star quarterback in the class of 2027.
According to his announcement in comments to Rivals, it sounds like Hunter primarily made the decision following Kentucky’s coaching change.
“After consideration, my family and I felt it was in my best interest to go ahead and decommit and fully opening my recruitment back up,” Hunter told Rivals. “It’s been in the back of my mind ever since the head coaching change went down. After this weekend just felt like the right time to do it.”
I truly appreciate all of the BBN fans and the love you all showed My recruitment is officially reopened. https://t.co/d4UOWLKqnn pic.twitter.com/z4Nr9BFiGb
