Xavier and head coach Travis Steele have mutually agreed to part ways.
According to 247 Sports, the deal was finalized this morning and announced by Vice President and Director of Athletics Greg Christopher this afternoon.

“I appreciate the opportunity to lead Xavier Men’s Basketball the past four years,” said Steele. “I am excited for the next chapter in my life, and I wish Xavier nothing but success.”
Steele spent four years as the head coach at Xavier, compiling a record of 70-50 during that time. He was 31-37 in Big East play.
The Musketeers didn’t qualify for the NCAA Tournament during Steele’s tenure. They went to the NIT in 2019 and 2022. The NCAA Tournament was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19. Associate head coach Jonas Hayes will coach Xavier for the rest of this year’s NIT.
