As you might have noticed earlier here on Nation of Blue, Alex Poythress is out again tonight due to his recent illness.
Poythress was working out pretty hard when I walked into Rupp Arena around 4pm, getting up shots and doing drills with assistant coach Kenny Payne. My guess is he would definitely be able to play if he indeed had to.
Kentucky is a 37.5 point favorite, so I think John Calipari can handle it without the junior.
In Poythress’ absence, sophomore Dominique Hawkins has been announced as starter for the second consecutive game tonight for the first platoon.
Hawkins had 7 points on 3-4 shooting, including a highlight reel dunk, in 16 minutes vs. Boston University Friday night.
