Lets take a look at the pregame notes:
Saturday marks the 66th meeting between Georgia and Kentucky. UGA leads the all-time series 51-12-2, including a 24-7 advantage when playing in Lexington. The Bulldogs have won the last two meetings.
The Bulldogs are 13-4 under Mark Richt following an open date. However, Georgia has not had an open date before the Kentucky game since Richt took over in 2001. Last season, the Bulldogs took a weekend off before topping Florida 24-20 in Jacksonville. Georgia had one of its later open dates on Nov. 20 in 2010 and returned to action with a 42-34 victory over Georgia Tech.
The Wildcats are 47-19 in Homecoming games since 1946.
At 41.3 points a game, Georgia is on pace to set a school record for scoring in a season. In 1946, Georgia averaged an SEC-best 37.2 points a game when it was a 10-game season. The modern mark for the Bulldogs is 32.1 set in 2002 when they led the SEC, scoring 450 points in 14 games, going 13-1 and winning SEC and Sugar Bowl titles.
UK is fifth in the nation for most true freshmen played with 14 and only one behind four teams who are tied for first with 15 true frosh played. Of Kentucky’s 80 recruited scholarship players, 55 are freshmen or sophomores.
Georgia has made excellent second-half adjustments as opponents have scored just 51 points in the second half, and one touchdown came on an interception return.
UK freshman punter Landon Foster ranks sixth in the SEC and 31st nationally in punting, averaging 42.9 yards per punt. As a team, UK ranks 27th in net punting (39.7 net yards per punt).
