Mark Stoops is known as a great defensive coach and has turned some programs around pretty quick. He took Florida State’s defense which ranked 108th nationally one season and the very next season had them ranked in the top five.
He hasn’t made that drastic of a turnaround at Kentucky just yet, but Kentucky is ranked in the top 40 nationally in total defense. UK is ranked 39th, which is a big difference from previous seasons. Hopefully in another year or so Stoops will have this Kentucky defense ranked in the top 10.
