Well-traveled quarterback Layne Hatcher named Ball State starter for Kentucky game

Kentucky will be facing quarterback Layne Hatcher, who started his college career at Alabama, in Saturday’s game against Ball State.

Hatcher started out at Alabama before transferring to Arkansas State, where he put up solid numbers for three seasons. He then transferred to Texas State for one season before deciding to finish up his career at Ball State.




Last season at Texas State, Hatcher threw for 2,653 yards, 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

For his career, Hatcher has thrown for 10,080 yards and 80 touchdowns.

In high school, Hatcher once threw for 745 yards and 9 touchdowns in a single game:
