Weekly Recruiting Round-Up (March 6th)


There is a ton of stuff happening right now in the recruiting world for both basketball and football, but here’s a quick glance at what has happened in the past week.

Recruiting will take the back seat due to conference tournaments this week, unfortunately, but we will still get a lot of news!

Here’s what happened this week:

[*]UK recruit Braeden Anderson is currently on a visit to Kansas; he has not received an offer from Duke yet, but did receive offers from Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arizona during the week.
[*]JUCO Stan Simpson is set to take his visits soon, he tells NoB’s Scott Anderson. It will be a matter of time before he decides where he will take his five official visits.
[*]Trey Dickerson ’12 will take an official visit to West Virginia in April.
[*]Trevor Lacey captured his third state championship in fours years Friday night as Butler defeated Anniston 44-39.
[*]Andre Applewhite ’12, Alex Poythress ’12, Jarnell Stokes ’12, and Tennessee-commit Kevin Ware ’11 headline the players that were in attendance for the UK-Tennessee game Sunday.
[*]Landen Lucas ’12 visited Harvard this week.
[*]J.P. Tokoto ’12 committed to North Carolina Thursday. He was also considering Kentucky, along with some others.
[*]Junior Torian Graham attended the UK-Florida game last week; Shabazz Muhammad was also there.
[*]Montrezl Harrell committed to Virginia Tech Sunday, according to reports.
[*]Aaron Rountree committed to Wake Forest.

[*]Juniors Patrick Towles and Joe Manley visited Vanderbilt for their Junior Day this weekend; Towles also received an offer from UK.
[*]Joe Bolden ’12 received offers from Kentucky and Syracuse this week.
[*]Juniors Jarontay Jones, Ryan Anderson, Darreon Herring, and 2013 Dee Liner received offers from UK Thursday.
[*]Tyrone Pearson ’12 de-committed from Louisville Sunday.
[*]Tulane offered OL Ben Still ’12, according to Cody McKee.
[*]Terry Richardson ’12 was offered by Penn State and UCLA this week.
[*]Kentucky received the first two commitments of the 2012 class with Josh Harris and Thomas Chapman.
