Freshman Reed Sheppard has done some pretty amazing things for Kentucky this season, but I’m not sure anything compares to what he accomplished in a 20-second span during last night’s win over Illinois State.
Sheppard grabbed a rebound and tried to advance the ball quickly, but he turned it over with a bad pass.
Rather than give up, Sheppard hustled on the defensive end to block a shot. He then stayed with the ball and earned a steal. Sheppard dribbled down the court and found an open Antonio Reeves for a three-pointer.
What a memorable segment by Reed Sheppard: a turnover, blocked shot, steal, and assist. No pouting over a mistake. On to the next play. Three straight 3’s for Antonio Reeves that happened within seconds of his team getting possession. @KentuckyRivals pic.twitter.com/04Lt0Cjmx7

In the span of 20 seconds, Sheppard managed to record a rebound, a turnover, a blocked shot, a steal and an assist. Most importantly, he illustrated what happens when you keep your head in the game after a mistake.
Every coach in the nation should show this clip to their team.
