Reports surfaced today that Montrezl Harrell will ask for a release from his scholarship to Virginia Tech and re-open his recruitment.
[URL=”https://twitter.com/#!/scoutsfocus/status/194843145131921408″]Kentucky is rumored to be on his short list[/URL] of new destinations, along with NC State, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Xavier, Cincinnati and Alabama.
Harrell, a 6’7″ forward from Tarboro, NC is ranked as the No. 82 player in the class of 2012 by Rivals. He is a bit under-sized for his position, but is a great athlete and has a very high motor. He excels as a rebounder due mainly to his huge wingspan and superior athleticism, but still needs some work on his mid-range and perimeter game.
