Here is an excerpt from 247 Sports:
As a grad transfer, there’s no question Smith will be eligible immediately. During an appearance on Kentucky Sports Radio Friday, UK associate head coach Vince Marrow said he believes there’s a strong chance that Peters will be as well.
“I think it’s a very, very, very, very strong possibility he will be [eligible],” said Marrow, who believes Peters will receive a waiver from the NCAA after transferring to Kentucky in order to be closer to his son.
Coming out of West Chester, Ohio’s Lakota West High School in 2018, Peters was rated as a 4-star recruit, the nation’s No. 12 outside linebacker and No. 174 prospect nationally according to the industry average 247Sports Composite. Prior to his senior season, he received an invite to the finals of the prestigious The Opening event and was named an Under Armour All-American after recording 78 tackles, six sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
