According to Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68, Vanderbilt is hiring James Madison head coach Mark Byington to replace Jerry Stackhouse.
Byington led James Madison to a 32-4 record this season.
His career record at College of Charleston, Georgia Southern and James Madison is 220–137 (.616).
