This was a huge week for the Kentucky Wildcats (18-9, 9-5 SEC) as they added three Quad 1 wins to their NCAA Tournament profile.
The Wildcats earned Quad 1 wins at Mississippi State and at home against Tennessee. They picked up a third Quad 1 win after Texas A&M won at Missouri, which moved them into the top 30 of the updated NET Rankings (No. 29).
The week took Kentucky’s Quad 1 record from 1-7 to 4-7, which should have them solidly in the NCAA Tournament field barring a late-season meltdown.
Here’s an updated look at the Cats’ profile:
Record: 18-9
NET Ranking: No. 33 (up 6 spots from yesterday)
Quad 1: 4-7 (Key wins: at Tennessee, at Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Tennessee)
Quad 2: 5-1
Quad 3: 3-0
Quad 4: 6-1 (that bizarre loss to South Carolina)
Remaining games:
2/22 – at Florida (Quad 1)
2/25 – Auburn (Quad 1) – NOTE: Auburn is currently No. 30. If they drop to 31 or lower, it becomes Quad 2
3/1 – Vanderbilt (Quad 2)
3/3 – at Arkansas (Quad 1)
