Earlier today we learned the tragic news of EKU defensive lineman Joey Kraemer being killed in a car accident this past weekend.
UK spokesman Tony Neely said today, UK plans to honor Kraemer during the playing of “My Old Kentucky Home” in the pregame ceremonies before the UK/EKU football game on Saturday night.
Mark Stoops opened his press conference by offering Kraemer’s family and the EKU community his condolences.
“I’d like to send my condolences to Coach Hood and Eastern Kentucky. Hearing about that tragedy, it’s sad for all of us. Our hearts go out to him, his family, and the entire program. That’s the sad thing leading into this game because we’re very excited to play them. We welcome them, we look forward to another hard fought game and bringing them to Commonwealth. Looking forward to a very good game with Eastern and I know they have some distractions to deal with this week in dealing with that tragedy. Again, I just feel for them and their program.”
