UK in the NBA Nightly Notables

There were nine games around the NBA on Tuesday with former Wildcats turning in some impressive performances.

One of the most notable games for UK fans was the match-up between Eric Bledsoe and Archie Goodwin of the Suns vs. a red-hot Anthony Davis and the Pelicans. Bledsoe showed increasing signs of a breakout season recording 23 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals to lead the Suns to a 102-98 win. Archie Goodwin had 3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and a steal playing a career-high 17 minutes for Phoenix. Davis scored 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks in 40 minutes in the loss.

Jason Smith and Anthony Davis had back-to-back blocks on dunk attempts by the Suns, earning them the NBA’s “Block of the Night” honors:

Charlotte beat the Knicks 102-97. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 16 points (season-high), 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 assist and 1 steal in the win. He played 26 minutes for the Bobcats.

Enes Kanter helped lead Utah’s offense logging 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists on 9-12 shooting. It wasn’t enough for the Jazz, who fell 104–88 to the Nets.

A humble Big E after the game:

It was an ugly game in Sacramento as the Kings’ rally fell short in a 105-100 loss to the Hawks. DeMarcus Cousins finished with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and a block. Patrick Patterson added 7 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals. Chuck Hayes chipped in an assist and 2 steals.

And this happened… Dennis Schroder grabbing DeMarcus Cousins’ junk:

Big Cuz talks about his frustrations and some questionable tactics from Hawks players in the game:

Jodie Meeks continues to show signs of improvement and is playing with a lot of confidence. He scored 11 points, grabbed 2 boards and had 1 steal in 22 minutes in a loss to Dallas.
