It blows my mind why any player would choose another school over UK. Yeah, I’m a UK fan, but for any recruit who is in the top ten of his class to want to go anywhere else is mind blowing to me.
Why? It’s simple.. You can argue that other schools can prepare you mentally and physically for the next level just as good as UK, but you can’t even come close to the “Brand” advantage UK has. Only Calipari can put a team together that has 12 NBA scouts showing up for practice.
Where else can you just show up for practice and have 12 NBA scouts watching. It’s the beginning of the season for crying out loud. We haven’t even played a game (and it’s great to see Alex and Willie making progress)!
How does Daniel Orton get drafted in the first round? Because John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, and Eric Bledsoe attracted NBA scouts like not other time in UK’s history.
At this rate, don’t be surprised if Dominique Hawkins is a late first rounder.
