Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo says he has a better appreciation for John Calipari after relying on four freshmen players this season.
Relying heavily on freshmen, including leading scorer Miles Bridges, Izzo has struggled to get his team to 18-11 overall.
Izzo had this to say about Coach Cal:
“I learned I had a better appreciation for John Calipari and what he does every year,” Izzo said on The Jim Rome Show.
Izzo used a word Calipari often does to describe his annual approach: “process.”
“We’re playing four freshman. I’ve started all four of them at one time, and there is a process to all this. My freshman aren’t quite the caliber his are in some cases, but it makes you appreciate that it’s in February, and you’re still doing fundamental work.”
