If you have watched Willie Cauley-Stein, it doesn’t take long to figure out what he does well.
He is a great defender, hustler, and can jump really high.
As Kentucky fans know, all three of these skills were on display night in and night out and was the most dependable player John Calipari had on his roster.
Now, being in the NBA, Willie will have to show more skills to help the Sacramento Kings get out of the bottom of the Western Conference.
Fansided.com takes a look at Willie’s pros and cons in his first NBA season and I have highlighted the thought that his durability will be a negative.
Con #2 (Durability): Throughout his three years in Kentucky, Cauley-Stein has averaged 24.5 minutes per game, which can question how effective he can be once he takes on a bigger role.
The low number minutes played weren’t the only concern. Even in Summer League he was being subbed in and out more often than most players would during a game, which indicates that Willie might not be used to playing a large amount of minutes consecutively. If that is the case, than he is more reliable as a backup for now.

As hard as Willie has worked on his game in the past, I wouldn’t expect too many obstacles that he won’t be able to overcome.
