Is it finally time for DeMarcus Cousins to get back in the NBA?
The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly bringing Cousins, a former 4-time NBA All-Star, in for a workout this week.
As of January 5, NBA teams are allowed to sign players to 10-day contracts, which could be Cousins path back to the league.
Here are more details from Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report:
Four-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins is expected to work out for the Los Angeles Lakers at some point next week, league sources tell Bleacher Report. The official date has yet to be determined, sources say.
He has been working out six days a week in Las Vegas. The free-agent center hopes to impress a Lakers franchise in evaluation mode. As of Jan. 5, teams are now allowed to sign players to 10-day contracts.
Cousins, an 11-year veteran, has been working tirelessly to earn a path back to the NBA after stints with the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets last season. As the primary backup to the two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, Cousins averaged 8.9 points and 5.5 rebounds in 13.9 minutes. He has a career statline of 19.6 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks.
