The KHSAA Sweet 16 has been cut in half as the Elite 8 is set for Friday in Rupp Arena.
The afternoon session saw an overtime thriller and then one of the craziest comebacks that almost everyone in Rupp Arena didn’t see because they were already in the parking lot.
In the first contest, Butler won an overtime thriller over Perry County Central 65-62.
Perry Central had a great shot by the best 3 point shooter in the state, Noah Back, at the end of regulation but couldn’t get it to go down.

Back also had a shot to tie in the overtime but couldn’t muster up enough to get it up from downtown.
Da Bears.

The Bears were led in scoring by Cameron Underwood’s 20 points.
The second game of the afternoon saw Scott County barely hold on to beat defending state champion Covington Catholic 64-61.
Everyone in Rupp Arena, including myself, had exited to go eat when CovCath decided to eat on the basketball floor.
With 2:35 left in the game, Scott County led 55-37 only to see CovCath go on a 15-0 run in about a minute and cut the lead to 4 with 27 seconds to play.
They then cut it to 1 point.

CovCath couldn’t get over the hump though but did have a shot at the end.

Scott County was led in scoring by Glenn Covington’s 15 points.
The nightcap saw Madisonville North Hopkins hold off a pesky Lincoln County squad 57-49.
Kenny White, who led Madisonville with 21 points, had a couple of nice dunks to light up the Rupp Arena crowd.
