Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who put up numbers worthy of SEC Player of the Week, didn’t even win SEC Freshman of the Week this afternoon.
Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 22.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals in wins over Louisville and Georgia.
The league gave the award to Alabama’s John Petty, who had 18 ponts, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks in a win over Texas A&M.

I’m pretty surprised that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander didn’t win SEC Freshman of the Week. Averaged 22.5 ppg, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
