Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Kevin Knox Projected Lottery Picks according to DraftExpress

DraftExpress’ Jonathan Givony has updated his 2018 NBA Draft Projections and it looks like Kentucky has 2 slotted for the Green Room.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is projected to go at #13 and Kevin Knox at #15 putting them into the NBA Draft Lottery.

Givony also writes that SGA stood out more than any other point guard during the conference tournaments.

No point guard prospect stood out more than Kentucky’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The 19-year-old freshman led the Wildcats to an SEC tournament championship by averaging 21 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.7 assists and only 1.7 turnovers in 37.3 minutes, all while shooting an efficient 60.7 percent from 2 and 40 percent from 3. He is Sexton’s polar opposite, as he is much more deliberate with his approach, managing the game with poise, slithering to his spots with a sharp handle and tremendous footwork and finishing around the rim with skill and craft. At a wiry 6-foot-6 with a 7-foot wingspan and an excellent feel for the game, Gilgeous-Alexander could develop into the best NBA point guard of this year’s crop. Although he wasn’t viewed as a surefire one-and-done prospect coming into the season, the RSCI No. 33 recruit has really come on as of late, and it’s easy to envision him fitting in the multipositional NBA game, as he can play pick-and-roll, spot shoot with space and run a team while using his quickness and length on the other end. Gilgeous-Alexander does have his limitations, predominantly as an off-the-dribble shooter. He shoots more of a set shot off the bounce and doesn’t project as the most explosive half-court scorer. He regularly kills his dribble inside the paint and isn’t overly physical or explosive from an NBA standpoint. While long with quickness and instincts, Gilgeous-Alexander does tend to get beat off the bounce more than he should, largely due to his lack of physicality. While he might not be as exciting as Sexton or Trae Young, Gilgeous-Alexander is a high-floor prospect who is certainly gaining ground thanks to his tools, feel, skill level and the leadership he has shown while carrying Kentucky down the stretch.
