Shabazz Muhammad lived up to his billing as a powerful dunker Monday night as he took home the crown as the 2012 McDonald’s All-American Dunk Contest Champion.
Muhammad barely edged out Archie Goodwin, who finished in second, by throwing down two perfect-score dunks in the final round. Muhammad began the final round by dunking over UNC-commit Marcus Paige and topped it off with a crowd-rocking, one-handed slam off of the side of the backboard.
Fellow UK-recruit Anthony Bennett finished in a distant third. Alex Poythress made it to the finals, but did not score.
