The Seattle Seahawks inexplicably decided to run a fake punt with just over five minutes to play while leading the Los Angeles Rams 24-3 last night.
Predictably, the play worked since no one likely expected Pete Carroll to be a big enough jerk to run a fake in that situation.
Punter Jon Ryan ran 33 yards right up the middle on the play. He then almost fumbled on his own and in the process of securing the ball, almost got killed by a Rams defender.
Ryan had to the leave the game with an injury and was taken to the hospital.

There’s a reason why punters only run the ball when necessary.
