Here’s a release from the NBA:
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The Santa Cruz Warriors have acquired forward Terrence Jones off waivers, the team announced today. A five-year NBA veteran who has spent time with the Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks, Jones will be active for the team’s next road game on Friday, December 22 against the Reno Bighorns (tip-off at 7:00 p.m.).
To acquire the 6’8 forward, the Warriors utilized the waiver claim priority that resulted from guard Antonius Cleveland’s GATORADE Call-Up to the Dallas Mavericks on November 17. Jones will wear #6 for Santa Cruz.
Jones, 25, spent the 2016-17 NBA season with the New Orleans Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 10.8 rebounds, 5.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.0 blocks and 23.5 minutes in 54 games. The 6’9 forward previously played four seasons with the Houston Rockets, who selected him 18th overall in the 2012 NBA Draft. As a member of the Rockets, he averaged 10.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks and was part of the 2015 Western Conference Finals team that played five games against the eventual NBA Champion Golden State Warriors.
Jones played two collegiate seasons at the University of Kentucky, averaging 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 76 games for the Wildcats. He concluded his 2011-12 sophomore season by capturing the school’s eighth national championship, recording 9 points (4-7 FG), 7 rebounds and 2 blocks against the Kansas Jayhawks.
