Ben Roberts of the Herald-Leader caught up with former Kentucky guard Rob Dillingham at the NBA Draft Combine this week.
Roberts talked to Dillingham about a number of things, including what made him such a good three-point shooter at Kentucky.
“John Welch,” Dillingham said. “If you all know John Welch, that’s the guy right there. So John Welch — I give him all the credit. That’s my guy. You call him, he’s in the gym at any time.”
Dillingham also admitted that he needs to work on a few things, especially defensively.
“My defense lacks at times,” Dillingham said. “But I feel like w hen I actually give effort and I know the game plan, then I really know what to do.”

Welch opted to not follow John Calipari to Arkansas and is now an assistant coach at Fresno State.
Dillingham is projected to be a top five pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.
