I have been telling my friends my ideas for this for several years and they all seem to think that it rocks….. Since every damn arena has to have some stupid corporate name associated with it I think it should be called “Purnell’s-Keightley Arena”. That’s right Purnell’s sausage the long standing supporters of UK basketball that has the great “It’s Goooood” commercials during all the games on the Big Blue Networks across the state mixed with Mr. Wildcat himself. Seriously doesn’t that sound better than Yum!, Staples or even Tampax arena? What would make it even better is if you could be served good ole country food and bourbon at the concession stands along with your typical heart attack inducing foods. Just think you could have sausage, gravy and biscuits, and beer or boubon at the games. It doesn’t get much more KY then that.
It should seat at least 50,000 and not be so steep in the nose bleed seats sections where poor people like me often have to sit. I would also prefer a slightly inclined, as not to block the boosters and season ticket holders view of the court, student section at least 5 rows deep all the way around the court instead of that little eruption zone. Frankly, some of the people that sit behind the sportscasters and near the court are quite rough to look at or are old blue hairs that never show much enthusiasm. I hate seeing that, especially on nationally televised games, they just look so bored even during the best games ever. We will also need better t.v.s for the poor folks in the top sections to get a closer look at the court.
I’m just saying think about it, it’s perfect and who cares who would make fun of us because we would still have the best fan base and would fill it up every weekend. I’ve often thought about making a FB page to see how many fan I can get to support this idea.
