Missouri rolls into Commonwealth Stadium ranked No.8 in the country, and by all indications they will have their starting quarterback under center. James Franklin has practiced all week and Missouri is saying it will be a game time decision. My guess is he will play.
Kentucky is coming off its first win since Sept. 7, can this be the game where Kentucky pulls the upset? Missouri is a 14.5 point favorite as of right now and the Tigers could very well overlook this young Kentucky team, as they have two big games coming up with Ole Miss and Texas A&M.
Kentucky has been competitive in every game this season, with the exception of a 42 point blowout to No.1 Alabama. Kentucky is also taking care of the football, as they have not committed a turnover in the past four games, but Kentucky will be without two of their top wide receivers. Alex Montgomery is out for the season with a torn ACL and Ryan Timmons is out with an ankle sprain. Demarco Robinson, Javess Blue, Jeff Badet, and A.J. Legree will have to step up big for Kentucky to pull of the upset.
Here is what Chris Low and Edward Aschoff from ESPN have to say.
MISSOURI at KENTUCKY
Low: Gary Pinkel isn’t saying which quarterback he’ll play this weekend. James Franklin has been practicing and could take the reins back from Maty Mauk. Ultimately, it won’t matter because Missouri’s defense will see to it that Kentucky loses its 13th straight SEC game. … Missouri 31, Kentucky 17
Aschoff: This is the first road game for the Tigers in almost a month. There’s a chance that Franklin could go, but with Mauk playing well and Kentucky struggling on both offense and defense, Mizzou might as well let its starter rest another week. … Missouri 38, Kentucky 13
My prediction for this weeek, I think Kentucky pull the upset.
