Predictions: Florida vs. Kentucky

Kentucky has not beat Florida since 1986. This is one of the longest losing streaks in the nation, if not the longest. Things are going to be different this year I think Kentucky will pull off the upset.

If you recall this morning I posted that Dick Vitale was thinking Florida could be on upset alert this weekend.

As always on Thursday saturdaydownsouth.com comes out with there weekly predictions.

#19 Florida (-13) at Kentucky

Jon: We’ll see how Tyler Murphy handles his first start and road start, and without DT Dominique Easley, could Kentucky make this a football game. You better believe it. But I like Florida to win and cover. Florida 28, Kentucky 13

Kevin: Florida handles Kentucky like usual. Tyler Murphy will have a few mishaps, but overall will do what he needs to do. Kentucky’s offense struggles against Florida’s defense. Florida 24, Kentucky 10.

I know Florida has the #1 ranked defense in the country, but they really haven’t played anybody with a high profile offense. Kentucky has the ability to score and score often, although against this Florida defense that will be a difficult task. If Max Smith is healthy, and by all indications he is, Kentucky will be able to throw a lot of different things at Florida using the 2 quarterback system the way they did against Louisville which should lead to some scoring opportunities.

I have watched Florida play twice this season and they are not a very good offensive team. I hate to see any player get hurt, but I think Florida will be a better team with Tyler Murphy at quarterback.

I think 26 years is enough, Mark Stoops and company will come out Saturday night ready to play and end the streak.

Kentucky 21
Florida 17
