Kentucky heads into the Swamp today to try and beat Florida, something that hasn’t been done in 27 years. Florida is currently an 18 point favorite in tonight’s game.
I was watching the UCF/Missouri game ealier today and ESPN analyst Andre Ware said the streak ends today, Kentucky wins. I had to rewind the game just to make sure I heard him right.
For Kentucky to have a chance to win this game, Javess Blue and Braylon Heard need to be at or near 100%. Heard can be a difference maker for UK. He is Kentucky’s most explosive running back. Javess Blue is a terrific down field receiver, who has the ability to get open and make big plays.
Kentucky needs to continue to protect the football. Kentucky hasn’t committed a turnover so far this season. Kentucky is +6 in turnover margin this season to lead the SEC.
Patrick Towles and Ryan Timmons are also going to have to be on top of their game. If Towles can be as productive today as he has been the past to games, Kentucky has a fighters chance today. I look for Timmons to pick up right where he left off last week and have another big game for Kentucky.
Defensively Dupree, Smith and A.J. Stamps need to come up big. I would love to see the Smith and Dupree get to the quarterback early and often.
