According to a report from Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Pitt has reached out to potential Kentucky transfer Adou Thiero.
Thiero was somewhat of a surprise entrant into the transfer portal after starting 19 games for the Wildcats this season. He averaged 7.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Here is an excerpt of the report:
Sources informed the Post-Gazette on Thursday evening that Pitt men’s basketball both has interest and has reached out to Adou Thiero, the former Kentucky starter who entered the transfer portal Thursday afternoon.
Thiero, a 6-foot-8, 222-pound guard/forward who played for Quaker Valley High in Sewickley, recently finished his sophomore season with the Wildcats after two season he playing under Kentucky head coach John Calipari. His entering the transfer portal came just a week after the Wildcats’ first round loss as a 3-seed in the NCAA tournament to 14-seed Oakland in Pittsburgh.
