Kentucky Baseball picked up a commitment today from 2014 pitcher Jacob Hamilton.

Hamilton is a lefty from Pikeville High School in Eastern Kentucky and was 2nd team All-State last season.

Jacob had been clocked at 89 in a recent camp with UK coaches in attendance and they made sure to let him know that they didn’t want him talking to any other schools.

Hamilton said it wasn’t too hard of a decision to play for the Wildcats.

“It wasn’t a very hard decision. It is every kid’s dream from around here to play for Kentucky and wear the blue.”

Hamilton first opened eyes his 8th grade year when held he off Perry Central with the bases loaded in a one run game in relief in the State Baseball Tournament. He also had an outing where he struck out 19 while throwing a no-hitter in 2012 and threw a perfect game striking out 19 this past season.

Jacob is currently playing summer baseball for the Huntington Hounds.

Hamilton picked Kentucky over West Virginia and Louisville.
