The atmosphere in Commonwealth Stadium last night was full of jubilation, from the wild scene on the sideline to players celebrating by taking selfies and singing “Don’t Stop Believin'” on the field with their BBN family. It was a night UK fans had long-awaited, a turning point for a program that has had more than its fair share of misfortune. I found myself awestruck on more than one occasion during the evening, forced to stop for a moment to look around and just take it all in. It was surreal standing on the field with all of the chaos and emotion. You couldn’t help but get a lump in your throat watching players and coaches embracing their families and one another. Fans were reluctant to leave the field, dancing and singing until the Commonwealth Stadium lights began turning off. It was like a huge weight had been lifted and replaced by a sense of optimism, genuine gratitude and pure joy. It was special watching parents sharing the moment with their kids, bringing a new generation of UK fans to the field. It was truly a remarkable scene and one I know I won’t soon forget. What is your favorite memory from last night?
