The First Responder Bowl has been canceled. That’s … a first?

The game was in a lightning delay of over an hour. It was in the first quarter when it was halted. It’s officially a no contest, meaning Boise State finishes the season at 10-3 and Boston College finishes the season at 7-5.

How are you going to cancel a bowl game after both teams and all those fans traveled to Texas?
I'm in Dallas and the weather is definitely severe — but what a colossal waste of time and effort and money for everyone involved. All the time preparing for this game, missing Christmas at home — and now your bowl is canceled halfway through the first quarter. https://t.co/6PdQI3WqaW

Sure. Explain that to the seniors who were wearing their college uniform (or any uniform) for the last time — and who told their families that, no, they won't be home for Christmas. Or the fans who paid plane fare, hotel, game tickets. But thank god for the bowl practices. https://t.co/YTsm4iuJ9k

It’s not like the game meant a ton to ESPN. They didn’t even bother to spell the sponsors name correctly:
