Nick Saban Takes a Jab at Kentucky While Praising WKU

Alabama head coach Nick Saban slid in jabs at Kentucky and Mississippi State while praising Western Kentucky during his weekly press conference on Monday.

“We had two teams in our league that actually lost to teams that were nowhere near as good as (WKU),” Saban told the media.

Here is an excerpt of his comments from A Sea of Blue:

“Most people probably don’t know that Western Kentucky is a good team,” Saban said Monday at his weekly press conference. “They finished in the top 25 last year. They lost their quarterback, but they have a lot of starters backs. They play physical football. This is a good team. We can’t take them for granted.”

But that wasn’t the only praise Saban had for WKU. He dished out a comment that praised the Hilltoppers while knocking the Wildcats, as well as Mississippi State, for their Week 1 losses to Southern Miss and South Alabama respectively.

“We had two teams in our league that actually lost to teams that were nowhere near as good as (Western Kentucky),” Saban said.”
