As everyone expected, Huntington Prep’s Andrew Wiggins has moved into the #1 spot in the 2013 basketball recruiting class.
It has been reported by the Herald Dispatch in Huntington that Wiggins will make all of his official visits and more than likely will announce his decision in the spring.
Rob Fulford, Wiggins’ high school coach, talks about how great Andrew could be defensively:
He’s so long, and both his footwork and handspeed are really good. He can absolutely be a lockdown defender. I think that’s the area that he needs to take the Jordan mentality of ‘your ass is not scoring on me.’ He has it in spurts, but he needs to have it all the time. Obviously, he’s going to be a pro. I always like to tell him ‘You’re going to be a pro, but it’s up to you how much money you make.’ I think that if he gets it [defensively] and takes pride in really being a lockdown guy, because he has the tools to do it, he can be like Kobe or LeBron defensively.
