The NBA does an annual poll of NBA GMs and the poll this year basically said that Anthony Davis is awesome.
The GMs, who could not vote for their own players, have chosen Davis as the overwhelming choice to win rookie of the year honors, the rookie most likely to be the best player from this draft class in five seasons, and the most athletic player in the rookie class.
Davis garnered 76.7 percent of the votes as the rookie of the year choice, besting Portland Trail Blazers rookie Damian Lillard (20 percent) and fellow Hornets rookie Austin Rivers (3.3 percent).
Davis had 86.7 percent of the support as the best player in five years while Washington Wizards’ Bradley Beal was a distant second at 6.7 percent.
In the “most athletic” category, 40 percent of the GMs polled favored Davis while Davis’ Kentucky teammate, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist of the Charlotte Bobcats came in second at 16.7 percent, followed by Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons (13.3 percent), Terrence Ross of the Toronto Raptors (10 percent) and Perry Jones of the Oklahoma City Thunder (6.7 percent).

I don’t think this a surprise to anyone, especially to Kentucky fans, and from the sound of how well Anthony Davis is playing in the preseason the NBA GMs are right on the money.
