A short-handed Morehead State used a big night from the free throw line to outlive NAIA Cincinnati Christian 87-79 in Johnson Arena Monday night.
MSU was 30-38 from the free throw line, with Kareem Storey (11-12) and Marquel Willis (9-10) leading the way, to outlast a gritty Cincinnati Christian squad who just wouldn’t go away.
Eagles head coach Sean Woods rested pre-season 1st team All OVC guard Angelo Warner, while also playing Brent Arrington and Karam Mashour limited minutes in preparation for playing 4 more games this week.
LSU transfer Corban Collins led the Eagles with 15 points. Storey had 13 points and 8 assists, Anthony Elechi, and the aforementioned Willis also netted 13 points.
