Morehead State used a career night from Karam Mashour and hot shooting from behind the arc to pound SIU Edwardsville 91-63. The 28-point victory was Morehead State’s largest in 36 Ohio Valley Conference games under Head Coach Sean Woods.
Mashour posted his second career double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. The point total was also a career high.
Angelo Warner finished with 18 points, including this euro step for two.
The Eagles made its first 12 field-goal attempts and did not miss from the field until the 10:02 mark of the first half. MSU recorded a 78-34 scoring advantage from the floor while tying a season high with 10 three-pointers.
The Eagles improve to 7-12 overall, 2-2 in league action and 3-4 at home. The Cougars, who had previously won six of their last seven, slip to 7-9 overall, 3-2 in OVC play and 0-7 on the road. Morehead State moves to 6-1 in the all-time series and has now defeated SIU Edwardsville in each of the last four meetings.
The Eagles host Eastern Illinois on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Panthers are undefeated in league play at 5-0.
