One of the most productive quarterbacks in SEC history is set to become a free agent. Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, sources tell 247Sports.
Rogers and the Bulldogs finished their season with a 17-7 Egg Bowl loss to Ole Miss Thursday, which ended Mississippi State’s season at 5-7 overall and 1-7 in SEC play. Rogers finished the game 25 of 39 for 207 yards with a rushing touchdown.
The Mississippi native and former class of 2020 three-star recruit was the Bulldogs’ starting quarterback each of the last four seasons. He’s set to finish his time in Starkville with 12,315 career passing yards, which ranks as the second-most in SEC history, and 94 career passing touchdowns, which ranks as the fourth-most in conference history. Rogers has accumulated 19 career 300-yard passing games.
