Three former Kentucky Wildcat baseball players who now play for the Minnesota Twins, with one in particular, may have caused the Kentucky Basketball team to lose to Indiana in the NCAA Tournament.
Former Kentucky pitcher and current Twin Taylor Rogers is the culprit according to teammate Logan Darnell.
Both players, including teammate Alex Meyer, usually watch the Kentucky games at the Cape Coral Hooter’s together during Spring Training and the Cats always win when this happens.
Well, I bet you can guess what happened.
Here is the story from Twincities.com:
“Rogers is like, ‘Let’s turn the game on,’ and I’m like, ‘No. I won’t be a part of this,’ “ Darnell said. “I get up and go pee. I come back and the game’s on and UK is up by 3 at this point. I’m like, ‘All right, Rog, this is on you if we lose.’ “
Kentucky’s collapse quickly followed, dredging up bad memories of a similar loss to Wisconsin in last year’s Final Four. That time Rogers made the fatal decision to turn the game on during a team barbecue.
“Basically the ‘Cats lost, and it’s all my fault,” Rogers said. “I’ll take responsibility. That’s all right. You see the recruiting class they have coming in next year? They won’t need superstition next year.”
Always remember, don’t mess with superstitions.
