Miles Bridges recently announced a top 5 list of schools that includes Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana and North Carolina.
Bridges, who ranks No. 24 overall on the Rivals.com list for 2016, will reportedly visit Kentucky October 16.
Here’s an excerpt from MLive.com:
His fall visits to Indiana (Aug. 28-30), MSU (Sept. 12) and Kentucky (Oct. 16) are set but he’s still in the process of organizing two other recruiting trips to Michigan and North Carolina.
“Every time I go out to a college they show me love so I’m not nervous about (making the trips),” Bridges said. “I don’t see myself making any more cuts; I’m just going to pick from that five.”
The official college decision could come as early as December through an ESPN press conference. That will happen toward the start of his senior season at nationally-ranked Huntington Prep High School in Huntington, W. Va. Bridges transferred to Huntington from Flint Southwestern Academy after his freshman year for better competition and he won’t be returning to Michigan to finish out high school career, despite the rumors.
Bridges also shared a funny recruiting story about Kentucky head coach John Calipari.
Coach Cal apparently called Bridges while he was on a date at the movies.
Here is what happened:
Around 10 p.m. you enter Rave Cinemas with a special female friend to check out “The Gallows” movie. Just as the horror film begins, your phone goes off as you’re kicked back, lounging in your seat.
Guess who … Kentucky coach John Calipari is calling to check in. Sounds surreal, right? Well, that’s life for five-star basketball recruit Miles Bridges.
“I had to ask, could I call him back,” Bridges said with a smile. “Coaches usually just call to check to see how I’m doing and to see if I’m still interested.”
