There has been a lot of talk about 6’6″ combo guard MiKyle McIntosh from the 22ft Academy in Jackson, Kentucky.
He had reportedly received an offer from UCLA and several high major schools have been contacting head coach Ryan Schmidt about the senior from Canada.
It had been reported that Illinois State and Kentucky’s Orlando Antigua were to watch McIntosh and 2015 guard Jamar Ergas tonight vs. St. Catharine’s JV squad.
Only one coach was there, Illinois State assistant coach Torrey Ward, while Orlando Antigua didn’t complete the trip to Jackson.
Coach Antigua didn’t miss a whole lot as McIntosh only scored 9 points and never really played up to expectations as he was rattled early in the game with a somewhat intentional head butt from a defender.
The scoring output was his lowest of the season, but did show some glimpses of his athleticism and leaping ability.
It will be interesting to see if Kentucky does watch him in the future and maybe he will hit more shots like this buzzer beater at the end of the 1st half:
