McNeese State has suspended new head coach Will Wade for the first five games of the 2023-24 season.
“I’m not surprised by this,” Matt Norlander of CBS Sports wrote Tuesday on Twitter. “McNeese is banking/hoping that this will mitigate any further punishment from the IRP. It’s a prudent move amid a controversial hiring decision. Don’t know if it will work.”
Wade, of course, is involved in an NCAA investigation that led to him being fired at LSU.

Remains hilarious that they hired him only to IMMEDIATELY suspend him, tho.
