Julius Randle is the 25th member of the McDonald’d All American Game roster. Congrats Julius, are you picking Kentucky?
Randle, who is ranked No. 2 in the Rivals150, returned to the court on Feb. 15 and instantly transformed Prestonwood Christian (Plano, Texas) from state champion afterthought to back-to-back TAPPS 5A state title winners.
As a result, the McDonald’s All American committee added Randle as its 25th member Wednesday morning. The game is April 3 (9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN) at the United Center in Chicago.
“I’m so happy right now, it’s a great feeling because this is something that I’ve always dreamed of,” said Randle, who will suit up for the East. “I wasn’t sure if it was gonna happen or not, but now that it has I’m just so blessed. It’s an honor.”
Randle’s late addition marks the third time the McDonald’s All American committee has added a player after the initial release of the roster, according to director Douglas Freeland.
