The Marshall Thundering Herd have withdrawn from the Independence Bowl because too many of their players are already in the the transfer portal.
Marshall won the Sun Belt Conference championship but won’t be able to play in the bowl game they earned because so many players can’t wait to leave the team for bigger opportunities elsewhere.
The Thundering Herd have already lost over 25 players to the portal.
This says a lot about the current state of college athletics:
