Jacob Polacheck of KSR asked Mark Pope today about the SEC having a .500 record in conference play.
Pope smiled and gave a great response.
“I think it’s been a really disappointing start to conference play,” Pope jokingly replied. “I feel like we’re not living up to the expectations, just being at .500 as a conference. And um, I just…I’m kinda looking around at other programs and I’m like ‘guys, we’ve gotta pick this up. This is embarrassing.'”
There's been a lot of talk about the SEC being the best conference in college basketball, but the league is still .500 since the start of conference play.
I asked Mark Pope about it to get to the bottom of this. pic.twitter.com/cPj4qBUSwQ
