Marcus Lee Wanted to Shoot Threes; Really?

Mike DeCourcy of The Sporting News has written an article about the departure of Marcus Lee and how it was probably for the best.

You can read the entire article by clicking below, but this paragraph really made my jaw drop.

Lee is not extraordinarily skilled. He made only 40 percent of his free throw attempts as a junior. But he fashions himself as a perimeter player, something that certainly was not going to happen at Kentucky. Perhaps he can find another college that will allow him to explore that side of his game. At least he will have a year to see if he can make himself better before trying to shoot 3-pointers in games.

Does anyone else out there think Marcus Lee should be playing on the perimeter?

Am I missing something?

Were there pickup games or any time that any one witnessed Marcus Lee popping threes and acting like today’s Patrick Patterson?

Ok, I didn’t think so.
